SPRING STORYTIME: WHO ARE THE PEOPLE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?

neighborhood_graphic We still have room in the following Spring Storytime sessions:

Baby Lapsit (ages 6 to 23months) on Mondays at 1:30PM and Tuesdays at 10AM.

Toddler Time (ages 2 and 3) on Wednesdays at 11:15AM

  Independent Storytime (ages 4 through 9) on Thursdays At 1:30PM. We recommend this session especially for homeschooling families.

SUMMER READING REGISTRATION KICK-OFF PARTY MAY 31!

dream_big_bat_astronautJoin us for our Summer Reading Program Kick-off Ice Cream Party on Thursday, May 31, at 6:30PM. Come in and get signed up for this year’s Summer Reading Program and enjoy an ice cream sundae at the same time! The South Charleston Public Library is offering programs for youth and adults of all ages. The children’s summer reading theme this year is Dream Big, READ! The teen theme is Own the Night! Sign-ups for the Summer Reading Program begin May 29. Hope to see you at the library this summer!

The South Charleston Public Library will have a summer lapsit session for Babies ages six months through two years old beginning in June. There will be two time slots on Monday morning: 10AM and 11AM. Bring your baby to the library this summer and enjoy short stories, songs and fingerplays!

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!

Hey Teens! Help the South Charleston Public Library offer more programs for our children’s summer reading program by volunteering starting this June. This year’s program, Dream Big, READ, encourages kids to continue reading during vacation so that they don’t lose valuable reading skills over the summer. You can help us offer a variety of fun activities for children. Volunteers do things like prepare craft materials and help supervise during special programs. DONATIONS FOR THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM

The Youth Services Department is asking for donations of the following items for craft programs we have scheduled for this summer:

9” white paper plates, feathers in assorted colors, beads in assorted colors, wooden spring type clothes pins, poly-fil, wiggly eyes, glow-in-the-dark paint, black glitter, foam glitter star shaped stickers, star stickers, toilet paper tubes, craft foam in assorted colors, glitter glue, composition notebooks, scrapbook paper.

Also, become a member of our Galaxy Club by donating money.

Big Dipper - $75

Supernova - $100

KIDS BOOK CLUBwar_with_grandpa

Read and discuss great stories with Miss Brenna and enjoy story-related activities and refreshments each Thursday evening this Spring at 5:30PM, from March 29 through April 26. Children in grades 2 through 4 will be reading The War With Grandpa by Robert Kimmel Smith.
